This expansive 10,000-acre lake is an integral part of the St. Johns River system, characterized by its shallow average depth and prolific hydrilla growth. The tannic, stained water provides excellent cover for largemouth bass, which thrive amidst the abundant natural forage and complex vegetation patterns.
