Drop Shot Fishing on Lake Havasu
Lake Havasu · Arizona / California · West
Havasu spans 25 miles along the Arizona-California border. Rocky points and coves hold bass year-round, and the combination of clear water and diverse structure makes it a technically rewarding fishery. Spotted bass are also present in some areas.
The drop shot suspends a soft plastic bait above the bottom on a fixed line, keeping it in the strike zone longer than any other rig. Originally a West Coast technique, it now dominates clear-water and finesse situations nationwide. Works vertically over structure or on a long cast.
