The reservoir is defined by its massive creek arm network, submerged timber standing in 10–35 feet of water, and red-clay-stained clarity that typically runs 2–4 feet of visibility in the upper arms and clears to 4–6 feet on the main lake. Largemouth bass are the primary target, with a respectable smallmouth population in the rockier main-lake sections and a world-class striper fishery running through the same water.
